Migrating an Existing WordPress Site

To use Site2Stream hosting with VideoWhisper video tools, your WordPress site needs to be deployed on a compatible hosting account. Choose the approach that fits your situation:

Option 1 — Clean Setup
Best for new or small sites
Our staff sets up a clean new WordPress installation with your chosen solution. You bring your theme, plugins, and imported content (exported from your old site via Tools > Export in WP Admin).

Cleanest result, lowest risk of compatibility issues

Option 2 — Full Site Copy
For established sites with active users
Copy your entire WordPress site to the new hosting account. cPanel accounts can be migrated automatically; other hosts require a manual file and database transfer.

Some plugins may need reconfiguration after the copy

Option 3 — Parallel Install
Keep your existing site running
Set up a new standalone VideoWhisper installation alongside your current site using a subdomain or a new domain.

Technical Migration Methods

cPanel Account Transfer

If you have a previous cPanel account, open a conversation with your previous hosting details and our staff will attempt an automated transfer. Provide one of the following:

cPanel URL and credentials (if previous host still accessible)
A complete cPanel backup or cpmove file — upload via FTP to your new account, or share a download URL

Manual Transfer from Any Host

For hosts without cPanel (we can assist at each stage):

Back up and download your files and SQL database from the old host
Upload files to the new server via FTP or cPanel File Manager (accessible by IP)
Extract archives using cPanel File Manager (right-click → Extract)
Create a new database via MySQL Database Wizard and import SQL via phpMyAdmin
Update wp-config.php with new database credentials

Files: My Products → Managed WordPress → Select site → Manage → Settings (SFTP credentials) → download via FTP client
